Press Release Summary: Cutting edge technology now available to long term care professionals. Protect residents' property with indisputable identification.
Press Release Body: Loss and theft of possessions is one of the most common problems that nursing home residents experience. Day-to-day conditions make it difficult for a facility\'s capable guardians to safeguard the personal property of residents constantly and resistance to engraving personal items is strong. This makes returning recovered items to their rightful owners problematic.
Now, the technology used to protect all licensed merchandise for 2000 Summer Olympics in Sidney, Australia, the work of artists such as Joe Barbera (The Flintstones) and Thomas Kincaid, as well as memorabilia of Mohammad Ali and Mark McGuire is now available to long term care and assisted living communities, Skyclad-Eye announced today. The DNA-based Property Security family of products is designed to increase the recovery and verification of ownership of valuables.
"DNA-embedded security products have long been used as part of the manufacturing process to combat counterfeiting, piracy and product diversion. Now, long term care professionals can take advantage of this cutting edge technology to protect their residents' property with indisputable identification," Tom Branson, Senior Vice President explained today. "Its nondestructive properties increase resident buy-in and improves the overall security performance of the facility."
This technically advanced system consists of patented ultra-violet ink embedded with specific sequenced DNA strands. Residents or family mark items with a permanent ID and their fingerprint. Items are then logged into a property management database. The unique forensic fingerprint fluoresces under ultraviolet light, and is virtually impossible to completely remove. Even if the markings are discovered and scrubbed, traces of fluorescing DNA remain in crevices and uneven surfaces. A check against the database or sample testing sent to the manufacturing lab can prove, without question, the rightful owner.
